EPO Carbon Hardtail 29er

The latest in a never ending quest to push product boundaries, Canfield Brothers is proud to introduce the EPO—the first carbon hardtail tough enough to wear a skull on the headtube. The Bros. ignored the perception of what a hardtail 29er should be when they introduced the first production 29er with sub-17-inch chainstays back in 2011, and carried that sentiment into carbon with the EPO. At 1,450 grams, it is the lightest—and first carbon—Canfield frame ever produced, engineered for aggressive riders with signature Canfield Brothers 29er geo: slack and low with super short 414-millimeter chainstays. The EPO is light, stiff, stout and ready to attack whatever you put in front of it. If it wasn’t so much fun, it would feel like cheating.

“This was hands-down the most fun I have had on a hardtail to date. Truly a bike that just wants to be ridden hard.” – Dirt Rag | Read the full review

“Canfield Brothers built the EPO with an agenda—to let riders have fun when the tires hit the dirt. For us, any lip became a mini “sender” that needed to be tested.” – Mountain Bike Action | Read the full review | Watch the video

“In a game of mountain bike free association, when I say ’29er carbon hard tail’ you say….? If you have thrown a leg over the Canfield Brothers’ EPO, then ‘all mountain bad ass bike’ should be the response. This is not a roadie’s dirt trainer or an XC racer. This is a mean and lean dirt-eating, fun machine.” – Freehub Magazine | Read the full review

“Is the EPO everything I want it to be? Yeah, actually, it pretty much is. … if you’re looking for a quiver-of-one hardtail, the EPO should be high on the list to consider.” – Blister Gear Review | Read the full review

This was one of those times I had a hard time sending the bike back (I think they may have thought they may never see it again), as it really was that fun.” (World’s Funnest Bike) – Bike Rumor | the frame – the build

“The EPO feels most at home in nadgery woods where you need to flick it from corner to corner and hop over stumps and branches…. Riders looking for a bike to rag around tightly packed woodland, where pin-sharp line choice is a must, will like the flickable, agile nature of the EPO.” – Bike Radar | Read the full review
